Venue
The Body Contouring After Massive Weight Loss Symposium will be held at the Hilton Anaheim, in Anaheim, California, from March 23-24, 2012 (2 days: Friday - Saturday).

Purpose
The purpose of this Symposium is to teach attendees how to evaluate and select patients for massive-weight-loss surgery, how to recognize potential signs of possible complications and how to avoid them and how best to manage them if they occur, and how to enhance their decision making and operative technique skills to ensure enhanced long-term results. Additionally, live surgical procedures for massive-weight-loss surgery will be demonstrated to teach the step-by-step technique for these procedures.

Target Audience
This course is appropriate for plastic surgeons of all skill levels. The ideal meeting participant will have an active interest in body contouring and body contouring after massive weight loss and a personal commitment to patient safety and patient satisfaction.

Activity Objectives
At the conclusion of this symposium, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the clinical decision making for body contouring after massive weight loss surgical procedures
  • Describe current techniques for body contouring after massive weight loss
  • Explain safety considerations and how to avoid and manage complications
  • Discuss how to optimize results for body contouring after massive weight loss surgical procedures
  • Describe long-term results, benefits, and risks associated with these body contouring surgical procedures
  • Identify ways to embrace new products and devices while ensuring the safety of patients
